Connectivity & Setup
Section titled “Connectivity & Setup”Why can’t I connect my USB printer?
Section titled “Why can’t I connect my USB printer?”The current Beta version of OmniPrint for Android does not support USB printer connections. We are actively working on this feature for a future release. Currently, please use Wi-Fi (Network) or Bluetooth connections.
How do I find my network printer’s IP address?
Section titled “How do I find my network printer’s IP address?”OmniPrint automatically discovers most network printers (supporting IPP, AirPrint, or ESC/POS protocols) on your local Wi-Fi, so you often don’t need to know the IP.
If your printer isn’t found automatically:
- Check your printer’s menu for a “Network Configuration” page.
- Print a status report from the printer.
- Look for an IP address like
192.168.1.x.
My Bluetooth printer isn’t showing up in the list.
Section titled “My Bluetooth printer isn’t showing up in the list.”- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your Android device.
- Go to your Android Settings > Bluetooth and pair with the printer before opening the OmniPrint app.
- In OmniPrint, tap Add Printer, select Bluetooth, and tap Scan.
Printing Support
Section titled “Printing Support”Can I print ZPL labels?
Section titled “Can I print ZPL labels?”ZPL label printing is temporarily disabled in the Android Beta version. For label printing, we recommend using the desktop version (Windows/macOS/Linux) of OmniPrint.
Why doesn’t my report print?
Section titled “Why doesn’t my report print?”- Check if the Printer Type matches your printer (PDF for office printers, ESC/POS for receipt printers).
- Ensure your Android device and printer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Verify the IP address and port (usually 9100 or 631).
App Features
Section titled “App Features”Does the app work in the background?
Section titled “Does the app work in the background?”OmniPrint needs to be running to process print jobs, but it can work in the background. However, for the most reliable experience (especially for receipt printing), we recommend keeping the app open or pinning it in your recent apps list.
Can I scan barcodes into any Odoo field?
Section titled “Can I scan barcodes into any Odoo field?”Yes! The built-in camera scanner acts like a keyboard input. Tap on any input field in Odoo, then tap the scan icon to capture a barcode. The data will be entered directly into the field.
