Printers & Printing Capabilities

The Android Beta version currently supports Wi-Fi Network and Bluetooth connections. Here’s what you can print with each connection type:

Current Limitations

• USB Connection: Not yet supported in this Beta version - only Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work
• Zebra Label Printing: Temporarily disabled, coming in a future update
• Windows Network Shares: Not supported - use direct network or Bluetooth instead

Adding Printers

Before you can print, you need to add your printers to the app. OmniPrint supports both Wi-Fi (Network) and Bluetooth printers.

Add printers in the OmniPrint Android app

1. Go to the Printers tab in the app.
2. Tap the Add (+) button.
3. Select your printer connection type:
   • Network (Wi-Fi): The app automatically scans for printers on your network (IPP, AirPrint, ESC/POS). Select a discovered printer or manually enter the IP address.
   • Bluetooth: For portable thermal printers. Scan and select your paired device.
4. On the printer detail screen, review or adjust the printer name, address, port, and other options.
5. Tap Save to add the printer to OmniPrint.

Printer Port

For network printers:

• PDF Printing: Usually uses port 631 (IPP) or 9100.
• Receipt Printing: Usually uses port 9100.

Example 1: Office Printer (HP LaserJet on Wi-Fi)

Printer Name/Path: /printers/Office_Printer
Use for: Invoices, delivery orders, reports

Example 2: Kitchen Receipt Printer (Epson TM-T88 on Wi-Fi)

Printer Type: Thermal Receipts
Connection: Wi-Fi Network
Printer Address: 192.168.1.50
Port: 9100
Paper Width: 80mm (3 inch)
Use for: Kitchen orders, receipts at fixed counter

Example 3: Built-in Printer (Sunmi POS Device)

Printer Type: Thermal Receipts
Connection: Built-in (Internal)
Device Model: Sunmi V2/V2 Pro/T2
Paper Width: 58mm (2 inch)
Use for: Mobile POS, retail checkout, restaurant orders
Note: No external connection needed - printer is integrated into the device
